About Us
Our History
The Jim Brown Company is three generations old and still going strong. Our company history began in June of 1964 by James C. Brown in the last bay of what is now the Butler Furniture building on State Highway 5. He later moved to our current location, 45 CR 466 which is just off State Highway 5 a mile or so further up the highway. James C. and his wife, Zella Brown, were a traditional husband and wife team running a small business designed to give back to the community.
James D. Brown joined the company in 1967 and learned the business from his father until 1972 when he ultimately purchased the business. James D. was the president until 2010, when the third generation, James N. Brown became the acting president and James D. stepped down to become the Chief Financial Officer. We’ve passed our legacy down the line – watching it grow along the way.
Awards and Recognition
In 2010, we were named the United States Residential Contractor of the Year by National Comfort Institute, and we consistently stand as Lennox D5 award-winners. For fifteen years we’ve been a member of the Mountain Home Planning Commission, and we serve as board members of the ASU Mountain Home Foundation, and Advisory board.
So it’s no stretch to say we’re committed. To our work, to our home…and to you. We’ve spent generations learning, serving, and growing. We only hope to uphold our reputation, by continuing to provide the highest quality care.
